Wine-growing farm Štekar, a homestead with soul, is situated in the village Snežatno, at altitude 190 m. Our vineyards are located just a few metres higher.

The built-up area is placed on the steep terrain, which faces the western sun and is kept in the lee from northern winds. Most of inhabitants are involved in wine-growing and fruit growing. The area is famous for its vine fertility and real fruit paradise, cherry trees prevail.

Some old customs and traditions are still present in the Snežatno village. Around May the first boys set up a maypole or »mej« as it is called in the village. It is seen in the middle of the village. There are still some houses which have old cuisine, people are open and friendly to all people, not just tourists and visitors. Traditional values are still alive and this is what we want to carry over to you all.

Wine-growing farm Štekar, a homestead with soul, is the only one in Snežatno. We were the first to start with farm tourism in Goriška brda almost a quarter of a century ago.
